Welcome to the official website of Nigerian Shippers' Council. The site has been designed to provide a thrilling source of information on international trade and related issues for the Nigerian shipper and the international business community. The introduction of this website is in keeping with a planned process, which began some years ago, of ensuring that shippers are adequately informed on all issues that would affect their businesses. This website provides information on a host of subjects including Nigeria's trade policies, customs tariffs, import/export guidelines a comprehensive list of prohibited goods. It is expected that the site wll act as a forum for better understanding of the Nigerian shipping and trade sector by the international community. In addition, this website provides applicable freight rates for imports to and exports from Nigerian ports, the current International Trade news, authorized port charges and local shipping charges payable at Nigerian ports, and daily shipping positions at Nigerian ports. A list of all shippers registered with the Council is provided with an online registration facility. Links have been provided to shippers' sites and all relevant sites on the World Wide Web as the need arises. Special projects of the Nigerian Shippers' Council, such as the Inland Container Depots (ICDs) and the Cargo Defence Fund are highlighted.
To ensure full participation by shippers in all activities of the Council, a calendar of upcoming events is available and an online forum for feedbacks provided. SERVICOM, a Service Delivery Initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria, is also highlighted to provide a complaints-and-redress mechanism for the shippers.
This site has been designed with the shipper and the international trade community in mind. The objective is to provide as much assistance as possible. We, therefore, encourage you to send any comments and suggestions that would enhance the usefulness of the site to all either through the online forum or to comments@shipperscouncil.com.
Enjoy your stay. |
